The fob will start the car, I just cant use the buttons to open or close the doors. It was warning of a low battery, but I've since replaced the battery. This is on a 57 plate Mondeo Titanium X. The normal key reprogramming trick of turning the key in the ignition so many times in 6 seconds wont work, as there's no ignition.
The test is to disconnect all the electrical drives to the injectors and also disconnect the electrical connection to IMV. This causes the IMV to be fully open. If you now crank the engine you should see >1050bar. Unfortunately I still don't see any pressure, although I do see the occasional pressure blip but not for long enough to start the car.
Place the tool for locking the sprocket (303-1151) in the access hole and rotate it clockwise to lock the sprocket in place. You will need the other special tool (310-083a) now to loosen the three pump mounting bolts through the locking tool holes. Loosen the four sprocket mounting bolts and remove from sprocket. After no more than 30 miles, it started to cut out on motorway, I kept having to bump it off. Then as I was leaving the motorway it shut down fully and wont re start. I have also just had the electronic actuator refurbished as that was faulty before. I have read the codes and got P0251.
