If it is, ensure the custom coordinates haven't been enabled (Settings > Guild Wars 2 > Tweaks > Launcher coordinates), or you could try enabling that for the play button and manually selecting where it is. If it does not automatically login, verify you haven't disabled automatic logins (right click > All/Selected > Disable automatic logins).
Respectfully, I completely disagree about the live chat option. Sony does this for their products, and it's completely atrocious. If the queue is anything more than five people, you can wait for a completely variable amount of time (could be 2 minutes, could be 10 minutes, could be 60 minutes).

Run Gw2-64.exe without using a shortcut, enter your email/password and choose to remember them, then login. Once logged in, don't click play - exit the launcher.
